An issue related to the lack of oversight of companies have due to the mass amount of mutual fund ownership. The mutual funds don’t normally even vote the proxy and don’t voice any concerns about management. It’s quite a benefit to management to have absentee owners like this. And some wonder how CEO pay could have gotten so out of hand? 😉
