I don’t see a conundrum

I don’t see a conundrum. Simply, the stock market sold off so traders have cash that they need to put to work and many of them chose bonds. This increase in bond sales drove prices up and therefore yields down. As I say, it’s about supply and demand. Demand for stocks fell, prices fell. Demand for bonds rose, prices rose, yields fell.
